I just thought at this time in my life, I would share my dating life with the world.
I entered the dating scene at the age of 16. I am now 20 years old. In this time frame, I have been on dates with James B, Coltin, Chris T, James L, Nick, Greg, Chad, Ben, Elliot, Chris W, and Matt. Of course each and every one of them have an interesting story, which I would love to share!
James B...my first date...however I didn't find out until 20 months later that it was actually a date. Technically, this guy Bryant had asked me out and I said yes but we had to go on a group date so I got some friends together for it...but then I couldn't go on the date because I was in darkness after saying yes, so I called it off, but James still wanted to do it, so we did, only I was technically the one with him. Yes, we were paired off but the other "couple" were just best friends, just like James and me. But when he told me he liked me and had since he met me our freshman year in seminary...well I wasn't ready for that yet. We have been on several dates over the years, but nothing has ever come of it. Now? Well, he isn't quite a best friend anymore since we've been in several fights and I can't take that anymore, plus I don't live at home anymore so we don't hang out or talk very much.
Coltin...lol. It was a blind date when I was visiting my cousin, Kat, in Idaho. At the time, I thought I hadn't been on a date so she set me up on one. He was 3 years older than me, but why not? ;) We had a lot of fun and almost got arrested for long-boarding at the top of a parking garage, and then he actually got pulled over when we were leaving for not having his lights on...but got off on a warning because there was a drug bust and the cop had to leave...that'll be the only time we've said, "Yay for drugs!" Ha ha!!! Anyway, I was in the bed of Kat's date's truck with another guy from this group date and apparently it's not illegal in Idaho...unless you're on the freeway/highway, which I didn't know we were on!!! So other than jay-walking, that's the only illegal thing I'd done. I haven't ever seen or talked to him since.
Chris T is one of my best friends' brother. He is almost a year older than me. We met at a church dance and kept talking. We eventually told each other we liked each other, but I pushed him away because Valentines Day and my birthday were coming up in a week or two and I didn't want him to feel inclined to get me anything, nor did I want to get him anything for his birthday a week and a half after mine. Ha ha. But we continued to talk and he dated some other girls. Eventually we were doing a talent show together in a group and the night of the talent show, he asked me to prom and to be his girlfriend and of course I said yes. It was very exciting. That relationship only lasted 2 days shy of 2 months. It was a good time, although now when I look back at it...he was a "bad boy" so why did I date him? Plus I think I was really enjoying the attention. Oh well. Now...well, we aren't exactly friends, at least we never talk.
James L...well we met in high school drama. He's a cool guy. We started talking a lot online the summer after we graduated from high school and we ended up dating each other and really liking each other. However he wasn't a member of the Church, and didn't like the fact that I refused to watch R rated movies. So one day we were at a party with our friends and he put in a movie. I wasn't familiar with it and asked him what the rating was and he said he didn't remember (which I found out later was a lie). So I called home and asked Tom to look it up. We found it was R, so I returned the phone and retired to the other room and watched Zorro! It was a great movie. However, two guys came in to check on me during the movie but he didn't. Then I found out that their movie ended a whole half hour before mine and he never came in...what a jerk. So that relationship ended after around 2 months of dating and never being bf/gf. I don't really talk to him anymore and I don't know that I have any plans to do so either.
Nick...ha ha! Got to love my old FHE brother! He had made a goal to go on a date every week that semester so he asked me out one time. We were supposed to go to this formal dance but then he found out it was jazz and he didn't like it, so it turned into a fun group date with his roommates and all. We made Celestial Brownies, and delivered them to a random apartment saying, "We heard what happened and made you brownies." It was hilarious! I can't believe he's getting married in like 2 months! Crazy!
Greg, Greg, Greg...what more can I say? I had this huge crush on my I-Team leader Greg my first semester in college. He was pretty funny. Anyways, there was a formal preference dance that came up and my roommates Emily and Katie really wanted me to go (and because it was formal I really wanted to go too). So we were eating brunch one day and he came and sat with us. They brought up the dance and asked if he was going, and he said he wasn't but would love to. So I said, "So would you like to go???" And he said, "Yeah!...Oh with you!? Ok." Ha ha! It was so funny! But we had a great time. He just graduated from here a couple weeks ago. Wow.
Chad. Oh my, Chad. So I was doing a scene with my friend Lex for our acting class. Lex's friend came to give us pointers and stuff, but he was soooo friendly and kind of made a move on me...unintentionally though. So I set up a double date for Chad and me along with Lex and my friend Shawna (a blind date for them). It was fun bowling and dinner...and then we crashed his car, so that was fun. Ha ha! It had died and we needed to get it to an appropriate place to stay overnight so it wouldn't get towed, but it ended up with the driver's door hyper-extended. Awesome, I know. Yeah...Lex, Shawna, and I...we don't talk to Chad anymore...
Ben. Ben was also one of my FHE brothers, but the next semester. He had an extra ticket to a culture diversity thing, so we went to that. It was pretty fun because I love diversity performances. We had Hogi Yogi afterwards, which was yummy. Then he dropped me off with just a saying goodbye. It was fun. I see him occasionally up here but we don't get to talk much, sadly.
Elliot...well...lol...we were doing technical theatre together and he asked me out in ASL! It was sweet. We had dinner together the next day before we had to be there for the performance. It was a good dinner and talk and all, but I didn't feel anything there, so we didn't go on any other dates, although he wanted to. I haven't seen him lately, but I've seen him a few times and said hi.
Chris W...well, this is kind of hard may I say...we met in math class. He played it cool for a week and then finally asked me out. After he asked me out and got my number, I asked him, "What's your name again?" LOL. Only the best words you can ask when agreeing to a date that night and to someone you sit next to all the time. He was dating others at the time too, so whatever. On our second date, I found out that my first roommate, Emily, was writing him on his mission while we were roomming, so I knew more about him than I thought. Anyways, we decided to be bf/gf a couple days later and things just continued to happen throughout our relationship. We only spent 2 days away from each other during the semester and then in between semesters he went home and we were apart the whole time but talked every day. During that time, I think I started to fall in love with him because our relationship was great even though we weren't in each other's presence. I was so happy when he got back. Then we had this talk and he said he didn't know what he wanted. So the next day we talked again and we have always just been so connected! Every time we feel like talking to each other, we'd just text each other and always at the same time. This time though, we both had been thinking about taking a break, so that's what we decided 2 nights ago. I don't know how long this is going to be, but I can tell you the first two days were killer! I'm finally pulling myself together and starting to cope with it. It's hard to think that he might be my best friend up here but nothing more. So yeah, we are now dating other people and trying to figure out what we want and if we want to be together or move on. He said something like a month is what he wants and I'm dying at times for this month to pass! I do go home in 2 1/2 weeks, so that'll be good...maybe...I just wish this break wasn't this hard for me. It's caused me physical pain which doesn't help my emotional pain, or my foot pain from bridge jumping with him on Monday and possibly having broken my foot. :/ Lucky me. Anyways, this story isn't over yet and I know the Lord has a plan for us and a reason for everything and we just need to figure it out.
Matt. Well, my new roommate Brooke wanted to make this guy that she dated last semester sorry for not contacting her over the break and since then as well. So we went to this party/club tonight in Rigby. It was so much fun! We had her go with our friend Lex and he surprisingly set me up with his friend Matt. So another blind date for me. It was a lot of fun once we got to the dance. However, Matt and I never talked, like at all! I don't think I heard more than 10 words from him all night, so that was the "quietest" date I've ever had. I don't know if I'll ever see him again or not.
Anyways, that's my dating life for ya'll! I've dated 11 guys, only had second dates with 4 of them, and only 2 boyfriends. Life is so much fun, I know. I hope you've enjoyed my excitement as much as I have. ;)
Yes, this is much later, but to keep this post updated...it is now 14 guys, second dates with 5 of them, 3 blind dates, and 2 boyfriends. I'd like to add Steve, Glen, and Cody to the list--all fun dates. But I have also decided that I want to reach 20 guys before getting married. I think it's a good thing that I plan to go on a mission--it gives me more time. ;) Life is good.
ReplyDeleteAnd now for a little update: Stephen and John have been added to the list to make a sweet 16. Oh happy day!
ReplyDeleteI just realized the other day that I forgot Justin. It ended up being a double date with my 3 1/2-year-old niece chaperoning. :P
